Will Facebook reduce the quality of our social interactions?

Investigative research into embroidered surgical implants (Ellis Developments) provided
a spatialisation metaphor to create a tangible link between the practice of textile design for
the body (fashion) and surgical intervention into the body, for the body; Surgery takes body
parts, puts them into a new body, for change, repair or improvement ; adjusting the body for
the better (thus essentially,hacking).
Garments are the easiest way to change your body, and your societal status. (Gordon 1991)

Following a technoproductivist model of making, the ‘friend fastener’/’quit facebook’ campaign
is a satirical series of works aimed to provoke questioning of self and, a reassessment of the human,
physical ‘send friend request’behaviour or action involved with forming new friendships. (as well considering the importance and value of long lasting relations).
